I just wanted to say I'm immensely pleased with iKana Nōto so far. The thought put into its design really shows: it works just as smoothly as iKana touch and iKanji touch, and surpasses them in its elegance. And as intended, it addresses very well what the other apps don't: the muscle memory of learning kanji and kana. The three apps complement each other very nicely, and together leave very little to be desired.

You can export your Google Reader subscriptions as an OPML file and import that into NewsLife. I'm not currently planning any kind of sync with Google Reader. If Google ever releases an official API then it's something I might consider for the future.

I'm currently investigating the issue with iKana with the missing text. A few people have reported it, I hope to have an update out soon to fix it.

Hey the new iKanji looks nice.
Updating it was a breeze
I'm so happy I purchased it together with iKana.

Oh btw, I'm experiencing a problem with iKana, with the vocab training.
I have an image that should explain enough:

It's bugging me, I really like the vocab training but this keeps me from using it regurlarly.

One thing that bothers me is how is the store going to handle users of existing products?

For new apps this isn't a problem but if you have an app that has hundreds or thousands of existing users you need some way of taking them across with you. Coupons currently only work on the US app store so that's not an option right now.

Do developers have to keep two versions of the app going? One for the app store and one for their own store with their own serial number/registration schemes etc? If so that will be a major PITA.

Possibly, I'm still looking into that. It's important to maintain compatibility with iOS 3.x as well for those who haven't or can't upgrade. The next release will have updated graphics for the Retina display on iPhone 4 and the new iPod touches though.
